A New Community Center for Dilworth

As our thriving community continues to grow, the City of Dilworth is committed to making important investments in essential city services and amenities that support the quality of life that our residents expect and deserve.

In that spirit, the city is moving forward with plans to replace its aging community center and adjoining fire station with new facilities. Construction of the modern fire station began in April, which will result in the closure and demolition of the community center.

This November, Dilworth residents will decide whether to approve a local half-percent sales and use tax to help finance the construction of a new community center. The $7.2 million facility would be designed to accommodate more activities, community programs and events.

If approved by voters, the new community center project would be built east of the Rail District and serve as a hub for engagement and connection for all residents.

In addition, the city is in active talks with a healthcare provider that is considering building a clinic near or adjoining the new community center.

This website was created to provide residents with the information about the community center project and the proposed referendum to support it.

Dilworth City Administrator Peyton Mastera recently sat down with local senior care advocates to describe the plan for the new community center.
